Lately I’ve been on a shopping binge and show no sign of stopping. Which is horrible because my husband & I are off to Vegas next week and I should be saving money for all the shows/dinners/shopping. So alas, I am putting a crease-fire on my credit card. I’ve been eyeing these items for when I get back from Vegas however…
Blank Vegan Leather Leggings in black. Loving them because I need something to spice up my wardrobe and this is just the ticket. Plus, they’re cropping which means they’re perfect regular length for me with my stumps for legs.
… I swear! I spent too much money last month when I got my bonus. And too much money this month when my computer died. But I had a $75 gift card at Holt Renfrew that was going to expire at the end of the month. So after a lot of looking around at various items I could get myself, I finally decided on jewellery, something rose-gold to go with my MK watch that my husband got me recently.
I was initially looking at getting the Marc by Marc Jacobs Katie bracelet, but after playing with it for a bit, I realized it was too finicky for my tastes. The links easily misaligned themselves and I’d spend all day making sure they looked proper. I was also considering getting a set of stackable rings by Folli Follie, specifically the Fireworks Rings, but wasn’t entirely sure. Would I ever bother to wear the rings separately or even be bothered to stack them properly together? I thought about getting an Alexis Bittar ring as well, but the ones Holt Renfrew carried were far too bling-y for my taste.
Finally, I decided on this Marc by Marc Jacobs Puffed Heart Ring which caught my eye. I love that it’s so ostentatiously playful, whereas most of my jewellery is decided less so which is a nice departure. But it works for me since it’s so girly like my personality. I’ve been trying to expand my jewellery horizons over the past few months and this is definitely an example of that. Now excuse me while I go admire my hand…
It’s been a really busy couple days lately so I haven’t done a couple looks. And my nails are peeling, cracking, chipping, dying, etc. So no nails either. So it’s time for another edition of loves & loathes.
Love: my new Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha purse
So I caved and bought it last month at Aritzia with my work bonus. It’s my first big purse in a long time. For the last 3-4 years, I’ve been carrying around small purses that are just roomy enough for my wallet, cellphone and my lipstick/gloss. The Natasha not only has enough room for all of those things but also my keys, an umbrella and a Vitamin Water. I just have to make sure this doesn’t devolve into those gigantic purses I used to carry & gave me shoulder pain.
Loathes: the absurd $435 pricetag of Mulberry’s Mini Cookie bag
I accidentally went into Holt Renfrew to look at the Marc by Marc Jacobs purse (and didn’t buy since no one helped me) and saw this purse as well as the regular size Cookie purse (which retails for approximately $1000). Of course, I had to go pick it up and fall in love with the softness of the leather. And the scrumptious scalloping. I love it in the creamy white but I think I’m leaning towards caramel colour for practicality. But wow, I cannot afford to spend four digits on a purse. It already took me two years to finally buy the MK bag above. So even though I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this purse since I saw it, I’ll just have it let it be. Some love stories don’t end happily.
If this came in a natural leather I'd be all over that.
My lemmings seem to come in spurts. I always seem to veer between wanting nothing and wanting everything all at once. Lately, I’ve been seriously thinking about getting the following:
Michael Kors watch in either Rose Gold or Brown/Espresso like below.
MICHAEL by Michael Kors double breasted trench coat in camel (also considering a Mackage one once I see what their new S/S line looks like)
MARC by Marc Jacobs Natasha purse in black
YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in #17/Red Muse
Cambridge Satchel in 11″ vintage Classic.
