On Sunday I went to the Home + Design Show at BC Place and while I didn’t see much I liked in the way of houseware, I did fall in love with a local Vancouver company, The Hive Printing.
There were quite a few things I wanted to buy, but I settled on the following:
1937 City of Vancouver Map shirt
I got mine in a maroon colour but it was also available in a blue. Get yours here if you’re interested.
Downtown Vancouver Archival Map Canvas Tote
I also got this awesome tote bag. I’ve been meaning to get a tote but could never find the right one that didn’t look like it was trying too hard. This one fit the bill well though. Love it.
You should take the time to explore the store; there’s lots of other lovely stuff on there, including some tea towels I’m seriously regretting passing on.
Lately I’ve been on a shopping binge and show no sign of stopping. Which is horrible because my husband & I are off to Vegas next week and I should be saving money for all the shows/dinners/shopping. So alas, I am putting a crease-fire on my credit card. I’ve been eyeing these items for when I get back from Vegas however…
Blank Vegan Leather Leggings in black. Loving them because I need something to spice up my wardrobe and this is just the ticket. Plus, they’re cropping which means they’re perfect regular length for me with my stumps for legs.
Ack it’s been an ugly long time since I last posted anything.
First off, check out my wishlist which I updated. I know you check it frequently and are frustrated with the lack of choices of presents to buy me. Heh.
I’ve bought a whole crap ton of new stuff. (Yes, crap ton is a scientific unit of measurement.) Here’s pictures of some:
2x Bailey 44 dresses. I’ve really caught onto this brand because it’s a little more affordable than my tastes usually run and the fit is awesome on me:
Yikes! It’s early July and I’ve already spent too much money. Went shopping yesterday and got the following:
Mini Willis in British Tan
A new Coach purse: the Mini Willis in British Tan. I’ve been waiting for my local Coach to carry this purse in this specific colour since they first brought out the Willis bags a few months ago. Up until now, it’s been mostly the pastel colours which makes sense for Spring/Summer. But I love the tan colour which matches nicely with some of my tan shoes. The purse is small – really small. I wore it out yesterday to meet up with some friends. I could fit my wallet snugly inside with just enough room for a lipstick. My phone had to go in the outside back pocket. (I later decided to just take out my credit card, debit card & ID and put it into the inside pocket. That way, I could also bring my eyes and sunglasses too. I may need to buy a tiny wallet later for this.
Bailey 44 You’re The Top Dress
I saw this in the store window of the Mens Club store and knew immediately I had to have it. I love striped dresses but usually the strips aren’t flattering. However, this Bailey 44 dress has the stripes going in a crisscross pattern which makes my waist look tiny. And I also appreciate that it’s not a bandage style dress. Love the styling and can’t wait to wear this somewhere to show off.
Plenty blouse also available in white & pewter
Also, this black silk blouse by Plenty. It’s got a bit of a peplum which I’m not 100% sure I’m into yet, but hey! What better time to try out a trend than when it’s on sale? I originally wanted this in white but it sold out. Damn all you tiny Asian girls out there who buy out my size!
It’s been a really busy couple days lately so I haven’t done a couple looks. And my nails are peeling, cracking, chipping, dying, etc. So no nails either. So it’s time for another edition of loves & loathes.
Love: my new Marc by Marc Jacobs Natasha purse
So I caved and bought it last month at Aritzia with my work bonus. It’s my first big purse in a long time. For the last 3-4 years, I’ve been carrying around small purses that are just roomy enough for my wallet, cellphone and my lipstick/gloss. The Natasha not only has enough room for all of those things but also my keys, an umbrella and a Vitamin Water. I just have to make sure this doesn’t devolve into those gigantic purses I used to carry & gave me shoulder pain.
Loathes: the absurd $435 pricetag of Mulberry’s Mini Cookie bag
I accidentally went into Holt Renfrew to look at the Marc by Marc Jacobs purse (and didn’t buy since no one helped me) and saw this purse as well as the regular size Cookie purse (which retails for approximately $1000). Of course, I had to go pick it up and fall in love with the softness of the leather. And the scrumptious scalloping. I love it in the creamy white but I think I’m leaning towards caramel colour for practicality. But wow, I cannot afford to spend four digits on a purse. It already took me two years to finally buy the MK bag above. So even though I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this purse since I saw it, I’ll just have it let it be. Some love stories don’t end happily.
If this came in a natural leather I'd be all over that.
